Pottery Orientation

Please arrive on time for your orientation in order to maximize your learning time. Feel free to arrive up to 5 minutes early.

The pottery orientation is designed to provide you with the skills and confidence to drop in and practice in the studio independently. We highly encourage you to drop in and practice in between lessons, so that you can identify specific areas that we can help you focus on during technical classes.

Before your orientation:

Please wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. We provide aprons for students, and clay will wash out in the laundry.

You can expect clay to reach up to your elbows, so short sleeves are recommended, and we recommend removing any jewellery from your hands and wrists.

Throwing is more difficult with long fingernails, so we suggest you trim them before the class.
